Hi there!

I'm Shaylee Southerland, multimedia artist and maker.

I began my art practice weaving large-scale statement pieces in 2018 for private buyers and hospitality spaces. Located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, my work can be found in numerous Common Desk, a WeWork Company, locations - Trammell Crow Center, Canal Centre, Continental Gin Building, CityLine, and McKinney Square, Westchase in Houston and East End Market in Raleigh, NC.

As my practice has shifted to more multimedia experimentation through the precision of craft and an evolving curiosity for new materials, I create work that challenges the way we view texture and color.

My work is a continuous exploration of the world's rich tapestry, where textures, tactile qualities of nature and unique color combinations serve as my foundation. My pieces are a delicate balance of unexpected juxtapositions between the bold and vibrant alongside the subtle and understated.
